Making London smaller
For far too long, policies relating to young people have encouraged a segmented approach to working with them, with several departments, agencies and officers working on discreet issues in isolation.
Thankfully, there has been a move in recent years towards a more integrated, holistic approach to offering support to young people and to breaking down artificial borough boundaries.
This coordinated approach matches our strong belief that partnership working and open access are key to providing the best possible services to young people. In line with this, we are running a calendar of events and seminars with the following aims:
For young people:
- To give them a platform to showcase their talents and energy
- To bring London's diverse young people together, thereby encouraging them to venture beyond their local communities, experience different parts of London and meet other young people
For Summer Unis:
- To bring Summer Uni coordinators together regularly for information sharing, mutual support and mentoring
- To build a united, pan-London, Summer Uni London Network to highlight the benefits, strengths and passion of Summer Unis
- To acknowledge the excellent, often thankless, work being done by Summer Unis
