£2m made available to Summer Unis across London
Knowing that Summer Unis offer a fantastic opportunity for young people across London, London Challenge (part of the Department for children, schools and families) and the Jack Petchey Foundation each committed £1 million towards the development or establishment of Summer Unis in every London borough.
We are administering these funds in the form of the Summer Uni Grants. Full details are available in the Application Pack and in summary:
- Every London borough is eligible to apply for a single grant of £66,000 subject to providing match funding of £33,000. This funding must be put predominantly towards the direct costs of Summer Uni programmes.
- First right of application has been given to Local Authorities.
- The first two funding rounds have taken place and 25 Local Authorities have been awarded a Summer Uni Grant of £66,000 towards the direct costs associated with delivering Summer Uni programmes.
- The 3rd funding round runs from September to December 2007 and Local authorities and invited organisations in the following London Boroughs (the “Eligible Boroughs”) can apply: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Enfield, Sutton and Westminster. Please be aware, only one Grant will be awarded to one organisation in each Eligible Borough.
