The Mayor of London and the Government are working together to deliver a £79 million London Youth Offer to help provide more activities and services for young people

The package will run for two years, from 2008 to 2010, with £20 million coming from the Mayor’s London Development Agency and £59 million coming from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

The Youth Offer aims to increase the range of services for teenagers, provide more support for parents and give young people new opportunities to gain new skills and raise their aspirations.

A key element of the funding will encourage young Londoners to get involved in decisions about the provision of services for them across London. The youth funding is particularly aimed at the most deprived and hard to reach young Londoners.

Young people attending the Reel Change courses will have a chance to comment on the issues they believe in, the issues they believe young Londoners are facing today. Whether it’s making London safer for young people , encouraging employment, getting young people represented positively in the media, tackling drugs and crime, or any other issues you may want to talk about - we want to know about it. There needs to be a clear vision of how this £79m should be spent and it needs to come from young people.
